We all know that the holiday season is the time for family, friends, and of course – gift-giving. In the spirit of Christmas and the love for EdTech, I will be sharing with you 12 EdTech tools that can surely help you this coming 2024. Day 4 of our 12 Days of EdTech is about Remind, a communication platform for teachers, students, and parents.

Remind, a communication tool for teachers, students, and parents

Remind was built by Brett Kopf and David Kopf in 2011. Inspired by Brett Kopf’s experience as a student diagnosed with dyslexia and taught by a teacher who changed his perspective and experience in education. Remind is a communication platform that aims to provide a stronger and more reliable means for teachers and parents/guardians to communicate and further support students to succeed in school. Currently, Remind has been catering to thirty million monthly active users in different public schools in the US.

Remind’s plans and features

Remind has two primary products available for interested users. These are the two-way messaging platform and the hub, which is referred to as the expanded communication platform for the entire organization or school. The hub plan provides features that will surely benefit the organization. These features include administrator privileges, school-wide announcements, voice calls, surveys, and more. If you wish to know more about their plans, check out this page.

Through Remind, teachers, both in basic and higher education, can easily communicate and provide further support to parents and guardians. It helps in ensuring that students are well-supported and set up for success. In these times of technological advancements, it is great to find a tool that specifically caters to the needs of students and their families. Truly, Remind is a platform that needs to be further explored in 2024.
